The chief minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee has launched the West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme. The decision to launch this scheme was taken in a state cabinet meeting which was held on 24th June 2021. Through this scheme students studying in class 10th or above can take a loan up to Rs 10 lakh for higher studies. This loan will be available to them at a very low rate of interest. For availing of the benefit of this loan, students will be provided a credit card. With the help of this credit card, students can withdraw the amount of loan. All those students who have been living in West Bengal for the last 10 years can take benefit from this scheme. Under this scheme, loans can be availed for undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and postdoctoral studies in India or abroad.

Repayment Period Of West Bengal Student Credit Card 

The scheme was a part of the election manifesto of Trinamool Congress. Students can take the benefit from this scheme up to 40 years of age. After getting a job the students Have To repay the loan within a period of 15 years. It is also worth noting that the procedure to apply for a loan will be made easy so that students can easily take loans. Students can also apply for a credit card online. West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme will be officially launched on 30th June 2021. Now the students of West Bengal will be able to get higher education despite their financial conditions.
